Detailed Description

Serving as their mid-range offering, the Admiral Rodney HMS Royal Oak Rum is named after the flagship of Rodney's vanguard during the battle where it distinguished itself during its initial engagements. Like its namesake, this rum is bold and intense, crafted from a blend of rums distilled from Guyanese molasses using Coffey stills and aged in ex-bourbon American oak casks for 7 to 12 years. Blended to perfection under the supervision of Master Blender Evanus Harris, the resulting rum offers a rich and well-rounded flavor profile which is then tamed with pure water before being finally bottled.

Nose: Bright amber in color, each sip of this rum yields an alluring aroma of raisins, prunes, dried tropical fruits, oak, and spice.

Palate: A sweet and robust palate of sweet sultanas, chocolate, vanilla, and tobacco.

Finish: A sweet and sophisticated finish of caramel, sweet fruits, and spice.

Distillery Information

Established in 1972, St Lucia Distillers was born out of the merger of the last remaining distilleries on the Caribbean eventually making a name for themselves with their massive collection of expressions spread across multiple brands. One the more prestigious names in their catalog is Admiral Rodney a series of super-premium rum expressions named after famed British naval officer George Brydges Rodney, the 1st Baron Rodney, who is renowned for his actions in North America and the Caribbean. In keeping with their namesake, each expression is named after a ship that Rodney either commanded or was part of his flotilla during his battles with this inaugural release being inspired by the Battle of the Saintes.
